CBM's Lawportal Software

Carroll, Burdick & McDonough LLP's Secure LawPortal is an intuitive, Web-based database platform that allows CBM attorneys, co-counsel, and our clients rapid and secure access to legal information, permitting productive collaboration. CBM currently uses this platform with a number of our clients to:

  • Improve customer service by providing immediate access to information and enhancing communications between our attorneys, co-counsel and clients
  • Automate calendaring and scheduling—everyone knows the critical dates
  • Manage electronic documents, such as Word and Excel—access the current version of the document with the latest revisions
  • Conduct secure, private communications, using multi-threaded discussion lists—discuss case strategies and/or issues
  • Central repository stores and enables full-text retrieval of scanned documents, email messages, discovery documents, transcripts, etc.

The Secure LawPortal combines Web-based extranet technologies and custom forms to enable Information Technology personnel the ability to quickly tailor a custom environment that suits the needs of the attorneys and the client. Information is organized to provide intuitive fingertip access to the most important “need to know” information in the case. The system is extremely easy to use and requires very little training.

All case members have Web-based access to the central repository of information, regardless of physical location. Case members, clients, and/or outside counsel can securely access all case information at any time and from any location. All Information is protected by utilizing the best available technology, practices, sophisticated encryption and firewall devices to maintain the confidential nature of the attorney-client privilege.
