Products Liability
- Ms. Geissl represents automobile manufacturers and distributors in the defense of products liability and warranty claims in state and federal courts. This representation has involved all levels of case management, including preparation of multi-state and international discovery, research and drafting of motions and briefs, coordination of experts (European and U.S.) such as accident reconstructionists, biomechanical engineers and medical experts, assisting in the negotiations of settlements, and counseling clients regarding NHTSA and other national and foreign automotive regulations.
International and European Law
- She has experience with the various Hague Conventions, for example, issues of service of process abroad, foreign discovery and taking evidence abroad. Advises foreign clients concerning jurisdictional issues in the U.S.
Intellectual Property
- Ms. Geissl is experienced in drafting and negotiating all legal aspects of R&D agreements, such as mutual cooperation and consortium agreements for business entities, research institutions and academic institutions in the European Union. This includes the preparation of numerous licensing agreements to facilitate the transfer of intellectual property rights, for example further development of software applications.
