Expertise

  • Dr. Imberg is the Chair of CBM's German Practice Group and our Products Liability Practice Group. He is licensed to practice in both the United States (California) and Germany. He is a native German and has been practicing in the U.S. since 1996.
  • Prior to relocating to the U.S. and joining CBM in 1998, Dr. Imberg practiced in Germany where he represented clients in general civil and commercial litigation matters. Since then, he has focused his practice on U.S. commercial and product liability litigation, with an emphasis on the defense of German and other European manufacturers in U.S. courts.
  • As a litigator, Dr. Imberg represents clients in state as well as in federal courts throughout the United States. He has tried major U.S. cases to verdict and, where appropriate, resolved litigation through the means of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), i.e., arbitration and mediation.
  • In 2006, Dr. Imberg successfully represented a German not-for-profit foundation in a multi-million dollar breach of contract, interference with contract, and copyright action, which was ultimately resolved at mediation.
  • He also represents various German companies in establishing subsidiaries and conducting business operations in the U.S.
  • Dr. Imberg today serves as national coordinating counsel for one of Germany's leading automobile manufacturers. He also counsels clients in the area of product safety, preventative product liability, risk management, corporate and commercial law.
