Mr. Carr has significant experience in defending complex and class action litigation, including claims relating to products liability, consumer fraud, insurance coverage, California Business and Professions Code Section 17200, breach of contract, and other matters. His experience extends to all aspects of litigation, including pre-answer motions, discovery, motions for summary judgment, motions for class certification, coordination proceedings, and trial.

Notable matters Mr. Carr has worked on include:

  • Defense of multiple class actions against major automobile manufacturer alleging product defects and violations of consumer protection laws;
  • Defense of major plumbing products manufacturer in construction defect class action;
  • Defense of prominent insurance company in nationwide class action alleging breach of contract for failure to pay diminished value on automobile insurance claims;
  • Defense of prominent insurance company in class action alleging unfair business practices relating to medical payment reimbursement practices; and
  • Defense of cellular telephone company in multiple nationwide class actions alleging unfair billing practices and unlawful consumer contracts.

Mr. Carr also has significant experience representing insurance companies in individual cases involving allegations of breach of contract, bad faith, and tortious interference with business opportunities.
