Mr. Sanderson focuses his practice on business litigation. He has successfully represented investment firms, corporations, LLCs and partnerships in actions involving claims of fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, Proposition 65 and other state disclosure laws, breach of contract, and defamation.
He has also represented banks and other financial institutions in commercial code matters, foreclosures on commercial properties, condemnation actions, and contract disputes.
He served as lead counsel for a contractor in successful prosecution of claims against a public entity and lead outside counsel for City of San Diego in an inverse condemnation action.
Mr. Sanderson was the lead trial counsel in successfully defending a major Japanese corporation against breach of joint venture agreement and fiduciary duty claims (defense verdict after two-week bench trial). He was also co-counsel in a successful breach of contract claim in binding AAA arbitration, and was co-trial counsel in obtaining a verdict for the Regents of the University of California.
Professional Liability Litigation
Mr. Sanderson's breadth of experience also encompasses products liability litigation.
He was lead trial counsel in successfully defending an unintended acceleration claim against Volvo Cars of North America (defense verdict after six-week jury trial).
Mr. Sanderson has also served as lead counsel in defending actions against major medical device manufacturer, as well as for the distributor of a ride at Great America targeted in wrongful death action.
He was co-trial counsel in successfully defending products liability claim against a forklift manufacturer (defense verdict after five-week jury trial).
Mr. Sanderson is lead national coordination counsel for a private corporation, providing advice on responding to products liability claims.
Defense of Consumer Protection Claims
Mr. Sanderson was lead trial counsel in Consumers Legal Remedies Act and Song-Beverly Act cases, and has successfully defended automobile, chemical, and recreational equipment manufacturers against claims filed pursuant to state and federal consumer protection statutes.
