National and Cross-Border Transactions and Litigation
Typical transactions we handle for our clients include the development, co-development and licensing of technology and IP rights. We are experienced in drafting and negotiating contracts such as technology transfer agreements, manufacturing agreements, and distribution agreements for technology clients, taking into account the special risks deriving from product liability laws and other specialized legislation.
New Technologies
We regularly work with clients in a wide variety of industries, ranging from medical devices to transportation to new technologies, including energy and energy financing. Many of our national and international clients are at the forefront of developments in these areas. Our attorneys are experienced in advising them on IP protection, development, plant construction and venture financing issues.
Information Technology
We have extensive experience with software service and maintenance agreements, as well as licenses. A particular focus is on the use of open source software components in commercial software. Our lawyers are experienced with issues of data protection and privacy law, including international data transfers. In the area of Internet law, we proactively work with our clients in developing new business models. We have assisted clients in a wide variety of online matters, including privacy policies and Internet agreements, and have counseled clients regarding potential liabilities arising out of e-commerce. In addition, we have handled domain name cases under ICANN's Uniform Dispute Resolution Procedures (UDRP) and the Anticybersquatting Protection Act (ACPA).
